We have an excellent opportunity for Welfare Assistant to join our Welfare team in Ireland. You will work closely with, and give operational support to the Welfare Department providing an efficient and professional administrative service. To provide administrative and operational support to the Welfare Team, ensuring that TDSI delivers excellent supporter care across Ireland.  

About you:

  • Able to work in a busy open plan office with frequent interruptions/requests for assistance.
  • Excellent organisation and planning skills, able to meet changing priorities and time frames.
  • Able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to prioritise work according to importance and changing priorities and time frames.
  • Ability to record observations accurately and prepare accurate reports.
  • Proven computer literacy including database utilisation, email, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Able to make good decisions under pressure and deliver on deadlines.
  • Full valid driving licence. 

 

About the role:

Your principal duties and responsibilities will include –

  • Responding to telephone and emails enquiries and concerns from members of the public, donkey owners and guardian homes and other stakeholders; Maintaining professionalism and composure whilst working under pressure to resolve a number of donkey welfare issues; 
  • Assist the Welfare Office Supervisor as required including supporting the Donkey Movement Co-Ordinator and support staff in managing all aspects of Donkey movements; 
  • Create and maintain up to- date case management records on Animal Management System, and ensure that key work streams are accounted for; 
  • Assist the Welfare Office Supervisor with month end reports; including monthly statistics, data reports, DAFM, monthly vehicle returns and expenses;  
  • Liaise closely with Donkey Welfare Advisers and support staff providing administration support as required; Escalating concerns and enquiries as appropriate.  
  • Assist the Welfare Office and SDWA with drivers work schedules, routes and admin, monthly expense claims and overtime hours as required;   
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in the Veterinary, Farms and Fundraising departments 
  • Speaking to members of the public, providing advice and support; Attending internal and external fundraising and promotional events when required; 
  • Assist with administering purchase orders for the welfare department; 
  • Provide support to Senior Donkey Welfare Adviser, Donkey Welfare Advisers, Welfare Office Supervisor Donkey Movement Coordinator and Head of Welfare, as appropriate 
  • Manage the processing of passports in collaboration with all donkey facing teams in Ireland, NI and UK acting as the first point of contact for the appropriate passport agencies.

This is a part-time, permanent  contract starting as soon as possible,  working 21 hours per week, 7 hours per day, preferably on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
