Volunteers have been at the heart of our work for many years and will be an integral part of the charity reaching its goals in the future. If you have an interest in horticulture, possess  outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, and would like to give the gift of time to The Donkey Sanctuary, we are looking for a volunteer to support our busy Retail and Gardening Teams based at our main site in Sidmouth, East Devon – a designated area of natural beauty.

You will be able to help us with …….

• Dead heading and tidying of retail plants.
• Watering and feeding of tubs and plants for sale.
• Removal of weeds from retail plants.
• Tidying and maintaining plant retail area.
• Maintaining correct pricing labels on retail plants.
• Interacting with visitors who require information about the plants and gardens.
• Assisting in the gift shop if needed, serving customers, stocking up, selling adoptions, etc.

After completing a 1-day induction, you will be a true ambassador for The Donkey Sanctuary, enhancing every visitors’ day and ensuring both existing and potential supporters feel valued and well looked after whilst visiting the site.

Full manual handling, till operation, GDPR, card payment and customer service training will be given.

We welcome applications from all who would be able to join us for a few hours between 09.00-16.00, Monday-Sunday.
