Do you love donkeys?
Would you like to help make a difference?
Can you spare the gift of time?
Then come and join our family!
The Donkey Sanctuary is one of the UK’s largest international animal welfare charities, currently supporting projects in over 35 countries worldwide. We are working for a world where donkeys and mules live free from suffering, and their contribution to humanity is fully valued. We are achieving this by transforming the quality of life for donkeys, mules and people worldwide through greater understanding, collaboration and support, and by promoting lasting, mutually life-enhancing relationships.
Volunteers have been at the heart of our work for over 15 years and will be an integral part of the charity reaching its goals in the future. They are involved in a multitude of ways across the organisation – welcoming visitors to The Donkey Sanctuary at our brand new Visitor Centre, in our shop, in our award winning restaurant, at our Donkey Assisted Therapy Centres, and at the many events we host throughout the year. They also offer support behind the scenes – with our wonderful donkeys, in our offices, our green spaces and much, much more…
In this role you will be providing a warm welcome to all centre visitors, offering help, information and advice on all the aspects of the centre you are based at, plus having a good knowledge of the wider charity as a whole and current campaigns that the Donkey Sanctuary are supporting. Working alongside the centre staff team to ensure that all visitors experience a high standard of care, whilst keeping all visitors safe from harm during their visit to our sanctuary.
We are looking for someone who is happy to host tours, speak to our visitors, support the general running of the centre, assist with administration tasks and convey information about our work.
If you have experience in customer service, are willing to complete some training and would like to be part of our team then we would love to hear from you.
We are looking for a volunteer to cover Saturday 10am to 12pm or 1pm to 3pm and or one Sunday a month 10am to 12pm or 1pm to 3pm.
If you are aged 16 or over, enthusiastic and have regular free time you can offer, then we would love to hear from you.
