These are exciting times for the charity, and we now have an outstanding opportunity for a creative and inspirational professional to join us as  PR and Marketing Communications Campaign Manager. With a passion for effecting change through innovative communications, and demonstrable experience of campaign management and a proven track record of planning and delivering successful multi-channel communications to time and within budget, you will work with colleagues across The Donkey Sanctuary to identify opportunities to create, project plan and deliver innovative integrated communications campaigns that support the achievement of our strategic organisational priorities and engage supporters in our work.

Within this multifunctional and rewarding role, your main duties and responsibilities will include –

  • Developing compelling propositions and messaging frameworks and managing projects for specific campaign audiences.
  • Planning and delivering international, national and regional media coverage that positively and strategically raises the profile of The Donkey Sanctuary, helping raise the status of donkeys.
  • Managing the PR Team, motivating and nurturing team spirit to create a highly skilled, proactive and adaptable media unit that can respond effectively to all media situations.
  • Working with key subject matter experts to write campaign communications materials to a high standard, in line with The Donkey Sanctuary’s brand and which effectively engages and communicates messages to a variety of target audiences including existing supporters and the public.
  • With the Head of Strategic Communications, helping implement crisis management plans to ensure any potential negative media coverage is effectively and proactively managed.
  • Acting as communications lead project manager to deliver large-scale filming and corporate media events, working with internal colleagues and external teams/suppliers to deliver key objectives and messages.
  • Managing and influencing relationships with key external influencers such as journalists, producers and celebrity VIP ambassadors and encourage them to support our mission.

A degree level education (and/or relevant experience of working in a similar role in marketing communications, media relations or campaigning), together with a working knowledge of digital media channels and online news broadcasting, is essential, as are excellent relationship building, organisational, writing and editorial skills, experience of working with the media at international level, and the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail whilst managing a large number of tasks to multiple deadlines. Previous experience of working in a communications campaign role for a recognisable charity and content generation and editing skills are desirable.

Based in Sidmouth, Devon – an area of outstanding natural beauty – this is a full-time. permanent contract starting as soon as possible. Working principally from home, flexibility will be required for occasional onsite working.
