We have an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated, flexible and friendly professional to join our dedicated fundraising team at The Donkey Sanctuary, Ireland. As Marketing and Fundraising Assistant, you will support the Head of Fundraising and Visitor Engagement and the Fundraising team in day-to-day delivery of a range of fundraising and marketing activities that deepen relationships and understanding with supporters, attract and retain audiences’ attention online and offline, and generate funds towards the charity’s work.

A graduate in a relevant field, or possessing previous relevant marketing and fundraising experience, and able to multi-task and work with a number of conflicting demands to meet multiple deadlines, your principal duties will include –

  • Assisting the Fundraising team in communications activity in line with the Marketing and Communications strategy of the charity and planning for The Donkey Sanctuary’s digital platforms and channels;
  • Writing, editing and posting digital copy as required;
  • Ensuring our social media activities are maintained and online communications responded to in a timely manner
  • Assisting with the delivery of fundraising and commercial activities to maximise the charity’s digital income generation and supporter stewardship opportunities, including our Adopt a Donkey scheme and supporting events and fundraising opportunities based at our Open Farm
  • Developing on-site visitor engagement activities encouraging repeat visits and conversion to long term supporters of the charity
  • Introducing new fundraising and marketing ideas to ensure the charity is using digital marketing channels in the most engaging way.

A basic knowledge of all digital marketing channels, and a keen interest in further developing skills and expertise in supporting the delivery of integrated digital marketing strategies, together with demonstrable working experience and a proven track record in content management of websites, is essential, as are an excellent standard of written English, and proficient communication copywriting, I.T. and customer service skills. Experience of e-commerce implementation, maintenance and customer journeys and of creating and developing paid and organic social media strategies, and Digital and Social Media trend awareness are desirable.
