Working closely with the Estates & Facilities Management (EFM) Maintenance Manager as a Maintenance Officer, you will contribute towards the development and delivery of excellent EFM services to all Donkey Sanctuary owned and managed premises. You will line manage the maintenance teams, supporting and liaising as necessary in driving improvements within the service, and support the Maintenance Manager in recruiting, managing, motivating, training and developing staff in line with the Charity's strategic aims and objectives. Working with colleagues within the EFM team, you will ensure that 24-hour breakdown and emergency cover is scheduled appropriately, and manage maintenance works, repairs and renewals ensuring value for money, compliance and business continuity, and advise colleagues and contractors regarding the maintenance of buildings and electrical and mechanical systems
Extensive knowledge of the building industry, contracting and health & safety requirements, experience of estates legislation and compliance, and an appropriate qualification in a relevant engineering discipline (HND, HNC or equivalent), are essential, as are working knowledge of electrical installations, IT networks, and heating, plumbing and ventilation systems, experience of effectively managing staff and contractors, and excellent communication and negotiation skills.
