These are exciting times for the charity, and we have an excellent opportunity for a flexible and professional team player to join our busy IT department. With excellent customer service skills, and experience of using incident and request call logging systems, you will provide technical support to The Donkey Sanctuary IT infrastructure, responding to requests by diagnosing and resolving reported system issues. Troubleshooting more complex problems escalated by the IT SupportDesk, you will work with other members of the IT team and/or outside vendors, providing assistance and support to both onsite and remote users.

Your principal duties and responsibilities within this varied and rewarding role will include –

  • Providing technical support to the IT infrastructure of The Donkey Sanctuary – primarily Windows 7 & 10 desktop/Laptop and Microsoft Office
  • Hardware assembly & support for laptops & desktops
  • Application installation, maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Assisting with asset and inventory management;
  • Managing incidents and requests through TDS SupportDesk system;
  • Maintaining technical documentation, knowledge database articles and user manuals
  • Assisting in the evaluation of new software and hardware products, and making recommendations for development/improvement.

Experience of providing support for Windows 7 and 10 operating systems and Microsoft Office and third party applications, together with of supporting on and off site users across multiple locations, is essential, as are excellent communication, problem solving and troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently and to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail whilst working with a number of conflicting demands and timescales. Experience of Windows server installation and/or support and knowledge of Office 365 is desirable.

Based in Sidmouth, Devon – an area of outstanding natural beauty – this is a full-time, 12-month fixed term contract, working 35 hours per week, 08.30-16.30, Monday-Friday. This is a hybrid role, with a mixture of home and onsite working as required.
