We now have an excellent opportunity for a proactive and flexible person with outstanding copywriting and interpersonal skills and a strong customer service ethic to join our busy Fundraising Department. As Fundraising and Marketing Officer, you will provide support to the EU Fundraising Manager in the planning, delivery and evaluation of a range of individual giving fundraising and marketing activities that deepen relationships with supporters, implementing activities that recruit regular donors, donkey adopters and one-off donors and growing annual donated income from individual members of the public to TDSI.
About you:
- A Higher Certificate in related field or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience of working on direct marketing activities focused on targeting the general public.
- Experience of using digital marketing and social media channels to create and deliver activity that engages new and existing audiences.
- Experience of video content generation and use of photo and video editing software.
- An excellent standard of written English which includes copywriting for different audiences and experience of creating engaging fundraising copy that drives support.
- Excellent customer service skills including management of social media enquiries from supporters and members of the public.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan and manage a variety of simultaneous projects to tight deadlines.
About the role:
Your principal duties and responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the EU Fundraising Manager to develop individual giving materials across multiple channels, suitable to achieve donor and donkey adoption acquisition and supporter development targets.
- Producing individual giving fundraising content for offline and online channels, including charity newsletters and social media campaigns.
- Liaising with external suppliers (e.g. designers, media agencies etc.) to develop donor and adopter campaign materials.
- Working with The Donkey Sanctuary (TDS) UK Digital team to ensure TDSI’s website features content that supports individual giving fundraising activities.
- Working with the TDS UK Digital team to cultivate, develop and monitor TDSI’s paid and organic social media fundraising, including use of photo and video editing software, as required.
- Collaborating with the Visitor Centre Team to develop on-site materials that encourage donors to adopt a donkey or make a donation.
- Contributing to the generation of new ideas and opportunities that could be tested to engage new or existing audiences more effectively.
What we offer:
This is a full-time, 12-month maternity cover contract starting on 1 August 2025, working 39 hours per week, Monday-Friday.
The working pattern for this role will combine onsite and home working under our guiding principles for such roles, with onsite attendance currently anticipated to be 1 day per week.
