We have an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated, flexible and professional team player to join our busy Maintenance Team. As electrician, you will carry out electrical installations, inspection & testing and planned preventative maintenance throughout The Donkey Sanctuary.

About you:

  • Time served apprenticeship to City & Guilds as approved electrician including Inspection & Testing and IET 18th edition Wiring Regulations.
  • Experience of domestic and industrial installations, medium voltage, single and 3-phase including I.T., Intruder alarm, Fire alarm systems and CCTV.
  • Excellent communications skills, including experience of communicating with a variety of staff at all levels.
  • Good organisational skills with experience of working on a variety of projects, including work which is unsupervised.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Full, valid UK driving licence.

 

About the role:

Your principal duties and responsibilities will include –

  • Maintenance of and repair of existing electrical systems.
  • Installation of new electrical systems.
  • Acting as the point of contact for EFM internally, to be responsible for work that includes installation of network and telephone wiring systems and associated control equipment, installation of fire and intruder alarm systems including CCTV and servicing and repair of fire and intruder alarm systems.
  • Timely and accurate inspection/testing and record keeping of Fire alarm, Intruder alarm and emergency lighting systems.
  • Timely and accurate inspection/testing and record keeping of electrical installations, periodic inspections and minor works.
  • Annual testing of all appliances and equipment including record keeping (PAT testing).

Based in Sidmouth, Devon – an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – this is a full-time, permanent contract working 37.5 hours per week, 08.00-16.30, Monday-Friday. Flexibility will be required for some travel to other TDS sites.
