We have an excellent opportunity for a proactive and flexible team player with outstanding interpersonal and diplomatic skills to join our busy Supporter Services Team. As Direct Debit Assistant, you will deliver exceptional customer service to our supporters, carrying out all administrative and financial processing of Direct Debit income.


About you:

  • A knowledge of CRM databases.
  • Experience of processing confidential and sensitive data.
  • Able to demonstrate a high level of accuracy, numeracy, literacy, and attention to detail.
  • Experience of working in a customer service environment and demonstrable customer service skills.
  • Strong communication skills and able to connect with a range of audiences using a variety of mediums.
  • Adaptable to the demands of working in an area of rapid change and development.
  • Proven organisation and planning skills, able to prioritise own workload to deliver to deadlines.
  • Excellent investigative and problem-solving skills.


About the role:

Your principal duties and responsibilities will include –

  • Delivering an excellent experience to new and existing supporters of The Donkey Sanctuary, ensuring that they feel welcomed, valued, and inspired to support the charity.
  • Positively engaging with supporters to resolve a wide range of routine enquires in a professional and timely manner.
  • Processing manual and electronic direct debit data in accordance with BACS Regulations.
  • Processing gift aid information in accordance with HMRC requirements.
  • Personal accountability for GDPR compliance and the reporting of data breaches.
  • Maintaining an accurate and legally compliant database on internal and 3rd party applications.
  • Providing assistance and advice to other departments on direct debit related matters.

Based at the Sidmouth main site, this is a part-time, permanent contract starting on 2 September 2024, working 25 hours per week, 08.30-13.30, Monday-Friday.
